Thank you, Dr. du Souich!

NB: This series of encounters highlights the diversity of the members of the IRCM community, the variety of their expertise and the depth of their commitment to their respective roles

Our esteemed colleague Dr. du Souich is leaving us after 40 years of fruitful collaboration at the clinic. Joining the IRCM in 1981 as physician, Dr. du Souich worked tirelessly in the care and advancement of knowledge, even postponing his retirement from the Lipid Clinic in order to continue supporting his colleagues during the pandemic.

He is also a Scientific Member of our Research Ethics Committee and will remain so during his retirement.

‘’It has been a pleasure to work with Dr. du Souich at the Lipid Clinic over the years. Dr. du Souich has always been appreciated by patients and colleagues alike for his expertise and humanism. It was in 1981 that he began his adventure at the IRCM Clinic, a journey that lasted until 2024... More than 40 years, first with Dr. Davignon's team, then with that of Drs. Dufour and Bernard. I remember working with Dr. du Souich as a resident, and greatly appreciated his approach to patients and the teaching he gave me. Finally, I must mention his weekly literature review, which was always greatly appreciated by all.’’ – Dr. Alexis Baass, Director of the Lipid Clinic

‘’Dr. du Souich is an example of knowledge and savoir être. His way of explaining to patients and colleagues the best treatment options, while always keeping a special place for lifestyle measures, should be taught in the faculty’’. - Rémi Rabasa-Lhoret, Director, Metabolic Diseases Research Unit

‘’Thank you for all the scientific information you have generously shared with us over so many years. We will surely miss you enormously, as your intellectual and medical contribution to knowledge in the field of cardiovascular disease is incalculable.’’  - Dr. Nabil Seidah

We all wish Dr. du Souich an excellent and well-deserved retirement.
