Who we are

Some see research through the lens of a microscope. We see it through the eyes of individuals whose lives we strive to improve.

The IRCM clinic is a reference centre in clinical care and medical research. The clinic hosts patients who are referred by their physicians for assessment and follow-up in the area of cholesterol, diabetes and hypertension. The IRCM clinic also has a Research Centre on Rare and Genetic Diseases in Adults with specialized clinics on genetic dyslipidemias, primary immunodeficiency and rare kidney diseases. The Centre will open other clinics in the coming years.

The IRCM clinic provides innovative and personalized care to its patients. The personalized care is offered through a unique multidisciplinary approach that includes physicians, nurses and nutritionists. Each health professional provides tailored information for patients to receive well-rounded care and implement healthy lifestyle choices that can help them overcome a wide range of diseases.  For patients who wish, and if they are qualified, may participate in research protocols to validate new diagnostic or therapeutic approaches as well as new drugs.

Patients' rights

Associated with the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM), the clinic and clinical research are funded directly by the IRCM and by funds from private and government organizations, such as the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, as well as the pharmaceutical industry.

The IRCM clinic is committed to providing quality service to all patients. Nevertheless, you may be dissatisfied with the services you have received and wish to bring to your attention a situation that you consider inappropriate.
