About this conference
Pancreatic islet beta cells are the sole source of circulating insulin secretion in man and other mammals and their dysfunction or destruction is a sine qua non of all forms of diabetes mellitus. I will discuss our recent work describing the heterogeneity and hierarchical function of these cells, as explored in vitro and in vivo using intravital imaging.
