*The conversion factor from mg/dL to nmol/L (x2.5) can be more or less imprecise depending on the apo(a) size.

Disclaimers:

  • The FH-Risk-Score should be used in FH patients aged between 18 and 65 years of age.
  • The FH-Risk-Score can not be used for patients in secondary cardiovascular prevention.
  • All FH patients should be treated with maximally tolerated statin therapy regardless of the FH-Risk-Score result.
  • The cardiovascular risk should be reassessed periodically or whenever a patient’s expected risk status changes (e.g.: new onset hypertension, changes in smoking status, etc.).
  • The use of the FH-Risk-Score should not replace the clinical judgment, as several other factors that are not part of the FH-Risk-Score can modulate the clinical picture of the patient such as diabetes, lifestyle, environmental, or genetic factors, as well as the presence of inflammatory disease.
  • Consider diabetic FH subjects to have a de facto high risk of ASCVD.
