On February 18, nearly a hundred people, including students, researchers and loyal supporters of IRCM’s research, gathered for the IRCM Foundation's recognition ceremony.
Now known as the IRCM Foundation Distinction Ceremony, this annual event was an opportunity to present excellence scholarships, highlighting the talent and the excellence of the next generation of researchers trained at the Institute, while warmly thanking our donors and partners for their invaluable support.
24 scholarships, worth $309,000 in total, were awarded to master's and doctoral students, as well as to postdoctoral fellows. For the recipients, who were selected after a rigorous process based on the excellence of their academic record and the quality of their research work, this represents both considerable support in the pursuit of their scientific projects as well as recognition of the value of their contributions.
“Our Distinction Ceremony is an opportunity for our donors to meet the future researchers they are helping to propel into high-level scientific careers. It's a privileged moment for everyone,” said Marie-Bénédicte Pretty, Executive Director of the IRCM Foundation.
By offering this concrete support for the training of the next generation, the Foundation plays a key role in the educational mission of the IRCM, which for over 50 years has been a key player in the training of Quebec's future generation of scientists.
