A Scientific Forum under the sign of friendship and intellectual abundance

Although science is often cultivated in small groups in the heart of laboratories, it needs to be nourished by exchanges in order to blossom and fully deliver its fruits. This is why the IRCM's Scientific Forum 2022, which brought together close to 175 people at the Estrimont Suites and Spa in Orford on June 2 and 3, was like a beneficial reunion, conducive to rekindling the scientific conversation that the pandemic had, it must be said, quite badly damaged. In what was a unique opportunity to bring together the vital forces of our community, more than 95 oral, flash and poster presentations punctuated the meeting, between moments of relaxation and well-deserved rejoicing after these months, these years of hard work.

Seeing the enthusiasm and creativity of the presentations delivered to a highly interested audience of peers, as well as the quality of the posters presented, one can think that the challenge of promoting the circulation of knowledge and nurturing the next generation of researchers has been met with flying colours. Several speeches highlighted parts of the Institute's activities, such as Dr. Eric Racine's speech on the importance of pragmatic ethics, a field of study that is currently being developed at the IRCM and whose relevance in modern society is no longer in doubt.

It is in this convivial context of intellectual ebullition allowing disciplines and generations to communicate freely that the participants were able to attend all these friendly jousts which ended with several prize-giving ceremonies.
