On Tuesday, September 28, the Marie and Willie Chrétien Conference Series hosted the eminent Peter Doherty, recipient of the 1996 Nobel Prize in Medicine, on the theme "Living with COVID-19".
In virtual format, in front of an audience of more than 180 participants from both the general public and the scientific community, Dr. Doherty provided an update on the arrival of the pandemic and the rapid evolution of scientific knowledge on COVID-19. He also shed light on the current situation with vaccination around the world and the prospects for the future. Dr Doherty then responded to questions from the audience.
"We deeply thank Dr. Doherty for taking the time to teach us more about this pandemic that affects us all, and for telling us about his journey and scientific communication, " said Sophie Ehresmann, president of the IRCM Student Association, the ASSO, which organizes the series of conferences with the support of the Marie and Willie Chrétien Foundation.

About the Marie and Willie Chrétien Conference series
Organized by the ASSO, the Marie and Willie Chrétien Conference series presents meetings with world leaders in health research in order to stimulate reflection and excellence in our future researchers. This series is made possible thanks to the support of the Marie and Willie Chrétien Fund, which was created in the 1970s to honour the memory of the parents of Dr. Michel Chrétien, with a mission to help fund academic scientific activities.
