Eight high-potential projects will be funded this year to stimulate progress and innovation in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) research, as part of the ALS Canada-Brain Canada 2024 Discovery Grants Program, for a total investment of $1,170,000 from the ALS Society of Canada (ALS Canada) and Brain Canada.
The result of a collaboration between ALS Canada and Brain Canada, the Discovery Grants program provides the research community with crucial funding for projects aimed at identifying the causes of ALS, treatments for ALS or related neurological diseases, and helping to maximize function, minimize disability and optimize quality of life for the more than 4,000 Canadians and their loved ones living with ALS.
