The Annual Dinner of the Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM) Foundation is back in person! More than 460 representatives from the business, research and life sciences communities met at the Marché Bonsecours on December 1st. The fundraising event, held under the honorary presidency of Luc Rodier, President and CEO of Guillevin International, raised $ 700 000, a new record for this flagship event of the Foundation, far exceeding previous results.
"Thank you to our generous partners, donors, guests and all those who contributed to this evening. What a satisfaction to see that the event was once again a success!" said André Couillard, President of the IRCM Foundation.
This event is an important support for the health research conducted at the Institute in relation to some of the most common and serious diseases, such as cancer, metabolic diseases and diabetes, among others.
"One of my proudest accomplishments as a Canadian business leader is to support people who not only advance science and health, but also showcase Canadian talent on a global scale through the quality and relevance of their work," said Luc Rodier. "I am very pleased with the outcome of this year's IRCM Foundation Annual Dinner.’’
With the theme of the evening, "From bench to bed", and with the huge potential of RNA still to be explored as the story line, the guests were invited to hear experts from the IRCM and to appreciate the depth of the Institute's expertise in this field. During the evening, the IRCM Medal of Merit was awarded to Dr. Rémi Quirion, Chief Scientist of Quebec and guest of honor of the gala. This mark of recognition is awarded by the Institute to personalities who support in an exceptional way the development of biomedical sciences.
