The IRCM Clinic is seeking participants to take part in the GLYCO-OSTEO research project, which aims to assess changes in bone remodeling markers after improving glycemic control with the initiation of an automated insulin delivery system.
Involvement
This study involves approximately 3 in-person visits over a period of 4 months and 5 online questionnaires taking approximately 5-15 minutes each.
- The 1st visit will take place before the installation of the automated insulin delivery system. We will address any questions you may have about the project and will plan some time for signing the consent form. We will also collect information about your diabetes diagnosis and conduct some tests (ex. blood tests). This visit will last approximately 45 minutes.
- The 2nd visit will occur 2 months after the installation of the automated insulin delivery system. Blood tests will be conducted during this visit. This visit will last approximately 30 minutes.
- The 3rd visit will occur 4 months after the installation of the automated insulin delivery system. We will repeat some tests. This visit will last approximately 30 minutes.
Inclusion Criteria
- Being a woman or a man aged 18 and over.
- Having a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes or latent autoimmune diabetes of adulthood (LADA) for at least more than a year.
- Having a glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) > 8.0%.
- Being interested in initiating or switching to an automated insulin delivery system.
