L’Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal (IRCM) is an institution devoted to biomedical and clinical research. It gathers nearly 450 people: researchers, students, postdoctoral trainees and administrative staff. 

The Neural Circuit Development Research Unit headed by Dr. Artur Kania is seeking candidates to fill in the position of Bioinformatician.

Summary of responsibilities

  • Process, analyse and integrate single cell / nucleus omics data (RNAseq, ATACseq, etc) generated in the lab and available in public databases. 
  • Perform cross-species analysis of above data. 
  • Able to work in a collaborative environment. 

Requirements

  • A graduate degree (M. Sc. or Ph.D. or equivalent) in bioinformatics or a closely related field. 
  • Proven experience with analysing NGS data.
  • Experience with single cell omics data analysis tools (e.g. Seurat, Scanpy)
  •  Extensive experience with R bioinformatics packages or python.
  • Be authorized to work in Canada.

Knowledge
Good knowledge of biology, notably of gene regulation mechanisms.

Working conditions

  • 2 years contract full-time position (35h/week).
