A member of the Board of Directors of the IRCM Foundation honoured for his human fibre and expertise
The Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM) and the IRCM Foundation warmly congratulate Mr. Guy Saint-Jacques, a distinguished member of the IRCM Foundation’s Board of Directors, who was just awarded the Order of Canada (Member level), one of the country's highest honours.
A federal public servant for almost four decades, Guy Saint-Jacques has dedicated his career to public service. A former Canadian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Beijing, he is considered one of Canada's foremost experts on China. He has also been very active in the environmental field, notably as Canada's Chief Negotiator and Ambassador for Climate Change. He has been a member of the Foundation's Board of Directors since 2018.
The Order of Canada (Member) recognizes distinguished service to a particular community, group or field of activity.
André Couillard, President of the IRCM Foundation, was delighted to see Mr. Saint-Jacques's humanistic spirit and extensive expertise recognized in this way: “Working with Guy Saint-Jacques means doing good for our fellow citizens on a daily basis, and always in a friendly, good-humoured way.”
“Having worked alongside Guy Saint-Jacques in his tireless work and having witnessed his humanism at work for our Foundation, I can only emphasize how fitting this honour is,” said Dr. Jean-François Côté, President and Scientific Director of the IRCM.
Mr. Saint-Jacques also received the Ordre national du Québec in 2023.
