The annual Gala of the IRCM Fondation once again demonstrated the power of solidarity and generosity. This year's event, on December 3, raised a record $1,105,585, thanks to the mobilization of over 600 members of the business community who gathered at the Port de Montreal's Grand Quay, and thanks to the generous participants in the online auction, made available throughout the previous week. This success testifies to the community's ongoing support for the cutting-edge health research carried out at the IRCM, which is essential to the development of innovative treatments and the advancement of scientific discoveries.

An Unwavering Support for Health Research
Under the theme “Imagine... a world of possibilities,” the evening highlighted the promising discoveries and scientific advances made by IRCM researchers. It also highlighted the healing potential yet to be explored, and the hope foreseen for tomorrow's medicine. From RNA therapeutics to monoclonal antibodies, the IRCM is at the forefront of the development of innovative therapies, paving the way for revolutionary treatments. For another year, thanks to the renewed generosity of its partners, the Foundation continues to play a key role in funding research projects that address serious diseases such as cancer, metabolic disorders and diabetes, to name but a few.

A Committed Honorary Presidency
Under the honorary presidency of Luc Rodier, President and CEO of Guillevin International, Sylvain Corbeil, Partner at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, and Maria Mangiocavallo, Vice-President at Scotiabank, the Gala not only raised substantial funds, but also provided a festive opportunity to express deep gratitude to all the partners and donors who support the cause of health research.

An Essential Support for the Future of Medical Research
André Couillard, President of the IRCM Foundation, commented: “The work of our co-chairs was crucial to the success of this event. Their vision, energy and commitment inspired an unparalleled mobilization and made it possible to achieve a result that augurs an even brighter future for the IRCM's excellent basic and clinical research.”

As Dr. Jean-François Côté, President and Scientific Director of the IRCM, points out: “Over the years, the Foundation has been and continues to be an unfailing ally in supporting the most innovative research activities, enabling us to hope to, one day, uncover cutting-edge therapies to cure a constellation of debilitating diseases such as cancers, metabolic diseases and diabetes.”

For the occasion, the IRCM Foundation was able to count on the major support of strong allies, including its honorary partners, Guillevin and Scotiabank, as well as its visionary partners Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton and RBC.

The funds raised during the evening will support research projects that will have a significant impact on tomorrow's health. The event was an opportunity to underline the importance of a strong partnership between the scientific and business communities, to advance science and medical innovation.

Events like this are just one of the many initiatives through which the IRCM Foundation fulfills its essential role in the advancement of healthcare research.
