Summary of the presentation:
Despite Canada's universal healthcare system, LGBTQI+ migrants face multiple structural barriers to accessing and benefiting from it. These barriers have a direct impact on their health, contributing to higher rates of illness and death among these individuals. To address these barriers, a pilot project for an innovative clinic designed specifically to meet the needs of these communities was launched under the name Clinique Mauve. Implemented in close collaboration with community, institutional and academic partners, this clinic offers integrated medical care and psychosocial anti-oppressive services that take into account the trauma experienced by members of these communities.
