Exploring new avenues to develop tomorrow’s medical knowledge through an approach that integrates basic and clinical research
Our research units are led by principal investigators who collaborate in a spirit of collegiality and with the vision of bridging the gap between research and patients. They train the next generation of scientists and are independent and creative minds who work tirelessly to improve health.
The Rare Kidney Diseases Clinic is housed at the Research Centre on Rare and Genetic Diseases in Adults at the Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM). It assesses and treats patients with various kidney diseases including: polycystic kidney disease, cystinosis, thrombotic microangiopathies, tubulopathies, tubulointerstitial kidney diseases and hereditary glomerulopathies.
The research protocols that are carried out mainly focus on new methods of diagnosis, monitoring and treatment and aim to define a better approach for the management of patients.
